Lost child procedure
Your childs safety is paramount and I endeavour to keep them safe at all times. However there are times when children may become lost.
To prevent a child from becoming lost I will teach children to stay near me, especially in busy or unfamiliar places. I will teach young children to hold my hand or hold onto the buggy, and if necessary use reins or wrist straps. I will teach children about the dangers of wandering off and about stranger danger. I will also teach children what to do if they should find themselves lost, and arrange a meeting point for the older children who may want to explore further afield in places such as parks and playgrounds. When we go on outings to busier places I will provide florescent bibs/ badges/ wristbands for the children to wear with my telephone number on.
However in the unexpected event that a child does become separated from me I will take immediate action to find the child. This will involve:

- Raising the alarm to those around me, providing a description of the child, so they can help with the search
- Alert any security staff of the location so that they can seal off exits and monitor cctv.
- Ensure the other children are safe and reassure them as they may become frightened.
- Alert the police and the parent of the situation.
